    But wait. Everyone knows that the first printing of anything is an ashcan.

    How are you getting past this iron-clad rule? Are you doing an initial print run and then burning it, so none may gaze upon its ashcannery?

    Honestly Elizabeth? I treat most first editions as “Suspected Ashcans”, or “Suspected Crappy First Editions” if you prefer.

    I think waiting 3-6 months after the game’s release is a very smart choice these days. Buying a game you know has holes, and with you knowing what the holes are, is vastly different from buying a game and finding holes you didn’t expect.

    No, not everyone releases such games, but that’s reflex, look at someone who touches a sizzling iron, they don’t move their hand back a bit, they draw it back a lot.
